Did you buy a cheap furnace or air conditioner online? Return it ASAP!

Some consumers looking to cut cost on their heating and air conditioning installation consider buying "low cost" units online with the hopes of hiring a heating and air conditioning  contractor to install it and save money. In reality, this is always a bad idea and in most cases actually ends up costing consumers more in the end. When Furnaces or air conditioners are purchased online they often come with no warranty and are sometimes non- returnable. Furthermore, if a unit bought online shows up at your doorstep with a problem such as shipping damage or manufacturer defect they are often times non-returnable whereas with a company if this happens we simply trade it out for a new one.

Buying a heating and air conditioning system for your home is not like buying a refrigerator that simply needs to be plugged in. Heating and cooling systems must be properly sized for the home. This can only be accomplished by performing a manual J load calculation and never by simply using a square footage divider. The air duct system must also be assessed to be sure it can deliver the proper amount of air required for the furnace and air conditioner connected to it. Furnaces and air conditioners must be properly installed to be sure they are operating safely and efficiently and will last for many years. With people being concerned with rising energy costs it is important to consider that your heating and cooling system accounts for 56% of your homes energy consumption. The most expensive part of a heating and air conditioning system is not the initial purchase, but the cost of operation. A properly engineered and installed heating and air-conditioning system will save you much more money than pinching pennies online. A heating and cooling system is unlike anything else you have ever bought, you simply cannot get the same thing for less. By Jeremy Grisham

  1. The best furnace air filter may be shipped via the internet or simply from a nearby store. There are definitely very many filters to choose from. They come in different designs, quality and also differ in performance.
